Just like MeetUps in your local city, these MeetUps bring together, creators, fans, and community leaders together to connect IRL, share ideas, and celebrate the Twitch community while attending one of the biggest gaming conventions of the year. Throughout the week, Twitch will host a series of Community MeetUps covering a variety of interests and communities from VTubing and tabletop games to Unity Guild communities and Creator Club groups. Every streamer says they "couldn't do it without Chat." AshSaidHi and Jyggy are putting that to the ultimate test. Streamers 8bitDee and KumaMonster will take the stage for a multi-game gauntlet, but it won’t be their hands on the controllers. Each round, they’ll scout the PAX crowd and draft a "Chat Champion" who will represent them in the gauntlet.
Fri. @10:30 - 11:30 AM Nothing brings people together like dunking on a terrible take. Ashlinaa and LatinosAgainstSpookyShit are asking the community to submit their spiciest gaming Hot Takes, and our debate teams captained by Blizz and Baddie will draw them at random to either defend or dispute - and their opponents fire back with rebuttals. You decide who wins.
Sat. @10:15 - 11:00 AM Mario 64 is one of the most iconic games of all time, and a speedrunning classic. To introduce the speedrunning community to new people, KingJO444 has trained streamers who've never ran the game before this weekend, and will bring them onto the stage one-by-one to complete a 16 star run!
Sun. @1:00 - 2:00 PM Twitch’s Clubs and Guilds are where streamers connect, collaborate, and build community. After a weekend of IRL MeetUps at the Twitch booth, we're inviting teams to represent each one onto the stage to showcase what makes their community special and compete in a series of challenges for dumb prizes and eternal glory. While you're at PAX East, be sure to join us for IRL Mode – Twitch Boston PAX After Party, March 28 starting at 9pm, a special evening MeetUp bringing together creators, community members, Guild Members, Creator Club Members, Twitch Staff, and industry friends to celebrate the Twitch community after the convention day ends. ✨ RSVP early while tickets are available. Twitch Unity Guilds empower historically underserved communities to connect and grow all year long, each managed by community members serving as Guild Specialists, all with funding from Twitch. Mission: We believe that our community should make a space where all can share their authentic voice and experiences with peers within a safe space where privacy is respected, concerns are acknowledged, and differences are celebrated.
The Creator Clubs program is geared around helping streamers find communities around their shared interests. The mission of Creator Clubs is to help connect like-minded creators in order to deepen their sense of belonging, help them access new, shared audiences, and find new ways to succeed on Twitch, together.
Twitch University is a new initiative providing support, connection, and investment in student activities. Twitch University will introduce currently enrolled students to opportunities for collaboration, conversation and education about the streaming space - powered by Twitch.
